Michael McSweeney

Partner

Michael is currently a Partner at McSweeney Holdings, focusing on investing and managing businesses in the automotive and real estate industries.  His career has been primarily focused in second stage automotive upfitting and automotive retail.  In March 2023, Michael and his brother Matt left a formerly acquired SCA to focus their full attention on expanding and growing their automotive dealership retail operation, and launching Mission Vehicles. Prior to March 2023, Michael served as the President of the Vehicle Upfitting Business Unit of Fox Factory (NASDAQ: FOXF).  In this role, Michael drove the performance and strategic direction of the company which upfitted vehicles for General Motors, Ford, Stellantis, Nissan and Mercedes Benz, through bailment relationships.  The division operated 5 plants, totaling 750 employees (AL, GA, IN, CO, OR).  During Michael’s tenure at Fox, the divisions revenues and earnings grew by over 200%.  These efforts were underscored by a focus on team building and organizational development, along with a relentless pursuit of operational efficiency through metrics management.   

Prior to being acquired by Fox, Michael served as the CEO of SCA Performance from 2018 to 2020.  During this time, the company achieved a CAGR of 88%, while making two competitive acquisitions totaling $52M in transaction value.  Michael served as the CFO for SCA Performance from 2009 to 2018, when it was fully owned by McSweeney Holdings.  

Michael began his career in Austin, Texas as a Venture Capital Analyst for seed stage VC firm G51 Capital. Michael received his BBA in Finance and Accounting from Middle Tennessee State University, MBA from Baylor University and has completed the Executive Education in Emerging Markets at Harvard Business School. 


Matt McSweeney

Partner

Matt is currently a Partner at McSweeney Holdings, focusing on investing and managing business in the automotive and real estate industries. From his earliest days, Matt inherited his father’s contagious passion and enthusiasm for custom vehicles. Since the age of 6 Matt has been closely involved in the Family Business. In 1996, Matt began his professional career with Southern Comfort in the Quality Control department. In 2000, Matt assumed the responsibility as the Manager of the Retail Accessories division of Southern Comfort. These two leadership positions ultimately set the foundation of Matt’s focus on creating sales growth and ensuring a quality product. In 2003 Matt set out to start new Dealer relationships in the Southeast, USA. Shortly thereafter Matt became the leading salesman for the U.S. market and remained in this position year after year constantly raising the bar and inspiring the rest of the sales force to aim higher. In 2006 Matt took the leadership position as the Sales Manager, managing 35 salesmen, selling in 49 states.

In 2009, Matt became the President of SCA Performance. In this role, Matt’s day-to-day responsibilities included sales management, chassis inventory control, internal process control development, interdepartmental communications and strategically managing to budgeted targets. Most recently, Matt held the responsibility of chassis inventory ordering, management, and all bailment fleet and commercial relationships with GM, Ford and Stellantis, managing a chassis inventory of over 16,000 units simultaneously.  Furthermore, Matt managed the staff of 60+ sales representatives, servicing roughly 2,500 dealership rooftops across the United States. 


Rod McSweeney

Founder & Chairman

Rod started in the car business in 1979 as a hobby.  He had a passion for hot-rod cars and learned to custom paint in high school. After rebuilding a used van for personal use, a friend at a used car dealership asked Rod to build one for him. He sold it immediately and ordered 75 more that year. Rod’s destiny was set. Over the next 30 years Rod grew the business to $50 million in annual revenues, having over 150,000 vehicles on the road, under the brand names Southern Comfort Conversions, SCA Performance and Black Widow.

During Rod’s tenure, he achieved many impressive milestones including recognition for many years as the largest volume specialty vehicle manufacturer in the United States for General Motors, Ford and Chrysler, served as the President of the GM Conversion Vehicle Manufacturers association, category leader of RVIA, and served on countless other industry boards. 

Rod is currently serving as an Advisor and mentor for the McSweeney Holdings team,  frequently attending regular performance review meetings and enjoying contributing to his son’s continued growth.


Deidre Allman

Partner & Chief Operating Officer Mission Vehicles

Deidre Allman has been a key team member of the McSweeney organization since 1996.  During her time with the company, she’s held a wide range of positions, most recently serving as the Vice President and General Manager of the vehicle upfitting division of Fox Factory.  In this role, Deidre oversaw all aspect of the company's operations, with full P&L responsibility.   She was instrumental in managing and scaling the administration, process flow, systems implementation and reporting process. 

In February of 2024, Deidre re-join the McSweeney family as a Partner and Chief Operating Officer of Mission Vehicles and oversees the day to day operations and administration of the business.
